Family reunions have a way of sneaking up on you. One minute you're volunteering to "look into venues," and the next you're fielding texts about dietary restrictions, parking logistics, and whether Grandpa can get in without climbing stairs. We get it. That's exactly why so many families in Mid-Michigan land on The Z Hall when they start looking for a place that handles the heavy lifting without making the day feel sterile or corporate.
We're located at 1775 Owosso Ave in Owosso, right between Lansing and Flint, which makes us genuinely convenient for families spread across Mid-Michigan. Whether your people are driving in from Detroit, Grand Rapids, or Saginaw, the central location tends to work for most.
What Makes The Z Hall Work for a Family Reunion
A reunion needs more than a big open room. You need space for the cousins who want to keep moving, a quieter corner for the elders catching up, a reliable food setup, and a bar that keeps things easy without anyone having to run to a liquor store. That's the combination we've built here across our different spaces, and it's why families keep booking with us for exactly this kind of event.
Room Options That Flex With Your Group
Our Great Room seats up to 216 for dinner and opens to 725 in theater-style layout. That chandelier lighting and exposed brick give it warmth without trying too hard. The original wooden dance floor, Michigan's largest, becomes a natural gathering point once the food settles. If someone brings a playlist, that floor gets used every time.
For smaller family reunions or more intimate setups, the Legacy Room holds up to 56 guests and works well as a buffet staging area with stainless serving lines, so food stays fresh and the flow stays organized. The Bar Lounge can accommodate 80 or more guests and works nicely for cocktail-style mingling before or after a seated meal. The Fireside Room seats up to 24 and is a good option if you want a quieter space for younger kids or an older family member who needs a calmer setting nearby.

The Garden is another option worth knowing about. It holds up to 150 guests and includes walkways, flowers, hardwoods, and sculptures, along with lawn games like cornhole, giant connect four, and giant chess. For summer reunions, especially, having that outdoor space available changes the whole energy of the afternoon.
Catering That Covers Every Table
Our on-site culinary team handles buffet-style meals with a menu that actually has options. You're not stuck choosing between one chicken dish and one pasta. Entrées span poultry, beef, pork, seafood, and pasta, including our signature Czech fried chicken that gets requested constantly. Sides include Yukon gold mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, roasted vegetables, fresh salads, and dinner rolls.
We can also accommodate custom menus for dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options, so you're not leaving anyone out when you send the family poll. If your group wants to go lighter, we offer packages like the Soup, Sandwich, and Salad combo or the Taco Bar, which tends to be a crowd pleaser for mixed-age groups.
Late-night snack stations like the French fry bar, soft pretzel bar, and s'mores station are available if your reunion runs into the evening.
A Bar Setup That Keeps Things Simple
Our full-service bar is staffed by licensed bartenders and covers cocktails, wine, beer, seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages. You can choose a hosted bar, semi-hosted, or cash bar depending on your budget and group preferences. Liquor tiers run from standard through premium to top shelf. No outside alcohol is permitted, and IDs are checked for any guest appearing under 40.
What's Included With Your Rental
Room rentals include six consecutive hours between 8 a.m. and midnight, covering setup, the event itself, and teardown. Our staff handles table and chair setup, and white linens are included. Tables and chairs are arranged as requested. Staff is on-site throughout the event for supervision and support, which matters more than people expect on a busy reunion day.
The facility is fully handicap accessible, with accessible bathrooms and baby changing stations for families with young children. Free Wi-Fi runs throughout the building.
