When you're planning an anniversary celebration that feels personal and intimate, you want a space that reflects the milestone you're honoring. At The Z Hall, our garden offers something different from a typical event space. You'll find walkways lined with flowers, mature hardwoods creating natural shade, and sculptures placed throughout that give the space character. It's an outdoor setting that feels thoughtful without being overly formal.
We've been hosting anniversary celebrations here since our renovation in 2019, and couples tell us the garden strikes the right balance. It's beautiful enough to feel special, but it's also flexible. You can set up however you like, and if the weather becomes a concern, we have the Great Room with Michigan's largest wooden dance floor ready as a backup.
Why Our Garden Works for Anniversary Gatherings
Anniversary celebrations need a different approach than weddings or corporate events. You're honoring a relationship and the people who've supported it, often with a smaller, more personal guest list. Our garden handles that scale well. With space for up to 150 guests, you can invite everyone who matters without the event feeling too large or impersonal. The outdoor setting encourages people to move around naturally, whether they're catching up near the fire pit or playing lawn games between courses.
The Garden Layout and How It Shapes Your Event
Our garden accommodates up to 150 guests comfortably. The walkways connect different areas naturally, so your guests can move between ceremony seating, cocktail tables, and the fire pit without feeling crowded. The hardwoods provide shade during warmer months, and the sculptures create natural focal points for photos or conversation areas.
We include lawn games with your booking, which keeps things relaxed. Cornhole, giant connect four, and giant chess give guests something to do between courses or while you're taking photos. The s'mores table near the fire pit tends to draw people together as the evening cools down.
What Happens When Weather Doesn't Cooperate
Michigan weather can shift quickly, and we've planned for that. If rain threatens your outdoor celebration, we move everything into the Great Room. The exposed brick, chandelier lighting, and wooden dance floor create a rustic, elegant feel that works just as well for anniversaries as the garden does. Our staff handles the transition, and we make the call together based on the forecast and your comfort level.
Catering That Matches Your Style
Our culinary team handles all food service on-site. You'll work with them to build a menu that fits your anniversary, whether that's a formal plated dinner or a relaxed buffet. We offer Czech fried chicken as a signature dish, along with roasted pork loin, prime rib, and options for guests with dietary needs. Vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly menus are available.
For anniversaries, couples often add appetizers during cocktail hour. We can set up vegetable trays, shrimp cocktail, or charcuterie boards. Late-night snacks like a French fry bar or soft pretzel bar keep the celebration going if you want a longer evening.
Bar Service During Your Celebration
We staff a full-service bar with licensed bartenders for every event. You choose between hosted, semi-hosted, or cash bar setups depending on your budget and preferences. Our bar includes standard, premium, and top-shelf liquor, along with wine, beer, seltzer, specialty cocktails, and non alcoholic beverages.

The granite counter bar is in the Bar Lounge, which seats 80 guests comfortably. Many couples use this space for a cocktail hour before moving into the garden or Great Room for dinner. The bar closes 30 minutes before your event ends, and we check IDs for anyone appearing under 40.
Planning Flow for Your Anniversary Day
Most anniversary celebrations follow a simple flow. Guests arrive and gather in the Bar Lounge for cocktails and appetizers. If you're doing a vow renewal or toast, we set that up in the garden. After the ceremony portion, guests move to tables for dinner, either in the garden or the Great Room, depending on the weather and your preference.
Our event day staff handles drink service, buffet setup, lighting candles, refilling desserts, and cleanup. We also have a dedicated point person who coordinates with any vendors you bring in and manages the timeline. You rent the space for six consecutive hours between 8 am and 12 am, which includes setup, your event, and teardown.
Why Owosso Works for Regional Guests
We're located at 1775 Owosso Avenue in Owosso, centrally positioned in Mid Michigan. If your anniversary guest list includes family from Lansing, Flint, Saginor, Detroit, or Grand Rapids, everyone has a reasonable drive. The location makes it easier to gather people without asking anyone to travel too far.
Additional Spaces If You Need Them
The Fireside Room seats 20 and includes makeup mirrors and a fireplace. Some couples use it as a quiet space for family photos or as a prep area before the celebration. The Legacy Room holds 56 guests and functions as a buffet staging area with stainless serving lines, which keeps food service efficient and out of the way.
If you have out-of-town guests, The Z House sleeps six with a queen bed, sofa bed, and rollaway beds. It includes a full kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Couples sometimes book it for close family the night before or after the celebration.

FAQs

Yes, our facility is handicap accessible with accessible bathrooms that include baby changing stations. The garden has walkways that accommodate wheelchairs, and the Great Room is on the same level.
